Career Counselling – Grief and Loss: – That Job Should Have Been Mine!

Career Counselling: - Grief and Loss - That Job Should Have Been Mine by Katherine Foster
How many times have you uttered these words?

Was it when you missed out on a new job, promotion or transfer to a more appealing company, department or location?

Nevertheless for whatever reason you were unsuccessful and yes you may feel deflated, upset, hurt, rejected, angry or simply bummed out  however the longer you stay in this negative space the longer it will be before you can move on and achieve your professional dreams.

Therefore, what I am suggesting is that after a period of mourning (of what could have been) that you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and turn that negative emotion into a motivational force to be reckoned with; set your big picture goal, break it down into small steps and actively go out and accomplish your ambitions.

Under no circumstances should you listen to naysayers who tell you it cannot be done, find a way to do it and prove them wrong.  Have some self-respect and go after your dreams.

If you need some help overcoming your loss and/or establishing your goals (big picture and small steps) Blu Ripples® can help you in numerous ways so call today and schedule a Career Counselling and Development session and let’s see your professional dreams become a reality.
