Personal Counselling…..Are You Struggling?
The power of experiences and emotions can touch our lives in profound ways; the physical expressions, the tears, and the laughter may be with us for a fleeting moment; however, the memories, both positive and negative, can linger on for a lifetime and affect us in ways that we are not consciously aware of in our present everyday life.
What Is Counselling?
Blu Ripples® defines Counselling as a communication therapy and interpersonal process whereby an individual, family or small group of individuals meet with a Counsellor regularly to identify, discuss and explore personal or professional challenges, upsets or concerns.
Blu Ripples Personal Counselling Services
Our Personal Counselling Services are designed to complement our specialist career counselling and consulting services. They are conducted under the scope of our expertise, industry codes of conduct and duty of care, ensuring that you receive professional and knowledgeable support. They provide individual, supportive and empowering short-term sessions to discuss and transition through periods of everyday stress, crisis and confusion.
By sitting down with Katherine and having a chat, she aims to help you identify, explore, discuss, and address everyday life events, concerns, challenges, or experiences that may be consciously or subconsciously impacting the way you communicate and interact with the world around you and thereby potentially impacting your career and life. When Should I See A Personal Counsellor?
Making the decision to see a Counsellor is a personal choice based on your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and experience at any given time. As a general guide, you may consider seeing a Counsellor if you are experiencing a specific problem, incident or event that is impacting your general quality of life, career or workplace performance, you have been triggered or experienced a loss, traumatic, negative, toxic or abusive incident or event and or have noticed a difference in your thoughts, feelings, and emotions that have last more than a week or two.
A few examples of everyday situations that might make you think it is time to reach out and talk to someone include: –
- Grief and Loss, e.g., the death of a loved one or colleague
- Employment and performance issues – performance warnings or termination
- Impact of previous trauma, abuse or bullying at home or on the job
- Caring for or living with a loved one with a chronic medical or mental health condition
- Feeling burnout by performance targets or overwhelmed by work burn and churn mentality
- Communication and relationship difficulties with loved one(s) or colleague(s)
- Feeling anxious, depressed, or overworked and underappreciated
- Moderate to highly stressed and wanting to explore coping, relaxation or self-care strategies
- Low self-esteem and confidence, or maybe you are doubting yourself, your skills or your qualifications
